Caro’s Rooftop | A fun little penthouse on Isla Verde beach

SUMMARY:

Caro’s Rooftop is a fun little beachfront penthouse in the heart of Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. The main highlight of this 3 floor,  2 bed, 2 bath apartment is its private rooftop with an inflatable jacuzzi, chaise lounges, and wet bar with an ice maker. Other great features include a dedicated workspace with seating for three, flatscreen TV’s in both bedrooms and living room, and a washer and dryer. There are restaurants, bars, casinos and an amazing beach all within walking distance and the building has a lap pool. The building is dated but don’t worry, the apartment is in great condition. There is a 5 night minimum and we only accept check-in’s on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We do not allow children because of the rooftop and we do not recommend the apartment for seniors who have trouble with stairs because there are 3 floors and a tight staircase.

LIVING AREA:

You will love the comfortable layout and thoughtful decor of the living and dining room. The space has a 4 person dining table, a 60 inch flatscreen TV, and air conditioning. 

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:

The master bedroom, located on the second floor,  has a queen bed, flatscreen TV, large walk-in closet, and amazing ocean views. The second bedroom, located on the first floor has a flat screen TV and a queen bed. There is no closet but there is a clothing hanger and storage space for clothes in the night stands. Both bedrooms have air conditioning. 

KITCHEN:

Caro’s rooftop has a fully equipped kitchen that will work great for extended stays. The fridge and the oven are a bit old and basic but they get the job done. There is also a microwave and a coffee maker.

PARKING:

The apartment includes parking for 2 small vehicles or 1 larger vehicle. The roof of the parking lot is not that high so we do not recommend renting very tall SUV’s.  

LOCATION:

Caro’s Rooftop is located on Isla Verde Beach, Puerto Rico. This is arguably the best urban beach in the Caribbean. The beach is 1.5 miles long, and the Isla Verde strip has a long list of dining and nightlife options. The apartment is 5 minutes from the airport and has car rentals, supermarkets, a CVS, and multiple hotels and casinos within walking distance. There are many things to do in the surrounding areas; here are some of our favorites:

• Chill at the beach! It is one of our favorite beaches in Puerto Rico and a must-do if you stay at Playa Bonita. The apartment has beach chairs, towels, and coolers for a long day at the beach.
• Alambique beach bar – great casual food on the beach on the first level of the apartment building. We love the fish tacos and the local Ocean Lab Brewery Mambo beer. Head there early to beat the crowds. For a very special occasion, book ahead on Opentable for an epic tasting menu meal at Marmalade in Old San Juan.
• You can book fitness classes and massages at the el San Juan hotel a few doors down, including beach yoga for $15.
• Buy any groceries and anything else you need at the local Pueblo grocery store, CVS, and Walgreens – all within walking distance and open 24/7.
• For a low-key, relaxing beach day, consider sitting under the palm trees when it’s too windy to use a beach umbrella. The shade and breeze are amazing!
• Shop at The Mall of San Juan. This brand new mall is a 10-minute drive from the apartment and has excellent shops and dining options.
• Explore the El Yunque Rainforest. El Yunque is an easy 30-minute drive from the property and is the only rainforest under US Flagship.
• Spend a day in Old San Juan. Playa Bonita is a 15 min drive away from the oldest city in all of the US. There is a lot of history and great food and drinks to savor.

AMENITIES:

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 1 bath towel per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.

HOUSE RULES: 

• Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
• Check-out time is at 11:00 am
• NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
• NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
• Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am, no parties or noisy activities during these hours
• The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
• All bookings are contingent on signing a short term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
• Maximum occupancy of 4 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 
• Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.
• Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease, or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
• Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule. 
• Subletting not allowed
